The Power of Planned Giving
Increase your impact through estate planningĀ
John and Sherry's story
When we launched Immigrant Ministry Connections in 2019, we had no idea the impact it would have on multiethnic young adults. Six years later, with the launch of Cross-Cultural Voices in 2025, we're more convinced than ever: this ministry needs to outlive us.
That's why we recently updated our will and named Cross-Cultural Voices as the beneficiary of one of our IRAs. When we're both called home, we want our legacy to continue reaching young people with the hope of Christ. Would you consider joining us? Together, we can ensure this ministry continues bearing fruit for decades to come.
Why planned giving matters
As believers, we're called to steward everything God has entrusted to us—including our final gift.
Planned gifts offer you smart and creative ways to increase your impact. By understanding the available options, you can multiply the end results of your generosity in ways that are simple, flexible, cost-effective, and powerful.
Nearly half of Americans don't have a will. Estate planning isn't just wise—it's an act of worship, using your resources to advance the gospel long after you're called home.
Every gift makes a difference
Planned giving isn't just for the wealthy. Gifts of any size create lasting impact.
You can designate a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate—whatever fits your situation. You maintain complete control during your lifetime and can adjust your plans as circumstances change.
Tax advantages: Charitable bequests can reduce the tax burden on your heirs while ensuring your values live on.
Flexibility: You can support multiple ministries, provide for family, and leave a Kingdom legacy—all in the same estate plan.
The question isn't how much you can give. It's what kind of legacy you want to leave.
Ways to include Immigrant Ministry Connections in your estate plan
- Bequest in Your Will Designate a specific amount or percentage of your estate in your will. Simple language in your will makes this possible.
- Retirement Account Beneficiary (IRA, 401k) Name Immigrant Ministry Connections as a full or partial beneficiary. This is often the most tax-efficient way to give, as retirement accounts passed to heirs face significant taxation, but pass tax-free to charities.
- Life Insurance Policy Name Immigrant Ministry Connections as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy. You can designate us for a percentage or the full amount.
- Bank or Investment Account Beneficiary Use a transfer-on-death (TOD) designation to pass funds directly to Immigrant Ministry Connections without going through probate.
- Donor-Advised Fund If you have a donor-advised fund, you can name Immigrant Ministry Connections as a beneficiary to receive grants after your lifetime.
